Uttarakhand is a state in the northern part of India and is also referred to as “the Land of the Gods”. The title “land of the Gods” is given to the state as the land is dotted with numerous temples. The land has not only been blessed with temples and places of worship but also with a variety of natural beauties. The towering snow clad mountains, lush green valleys, torrential rivers, beautiful hill stations, national parks, blossoming flowers adorning the valleys etc make up the places to see in Uttarakhand.

Mussoorie - this beautiful hill station is situated in the Dehradun district of the state. This is by far one of the most visited hill station of the state for its immense natural beauty and simplicity. Some of the most frequented places of interest in this hill station are GunHill, Lake Mist, Municipal Garden, Mussoorie Lake, Bhatta Falls, Sir George Everest's House, Cloud End, Jharipani Fall, Mossy Fall, Van Chetna Kendra, and Jwalaji Temple etc. a visit to this hill station is a must when in the state of Uttarakhand.

Nainital - also called as the Lake city of Uttarakhand; at an elevation of 6358 ft above sea level the hill station of Nainital stands tall. It is located in the Kumaon foothills of the outer Himalayas. The hill station is really beautiful and has a cool weather that will please and relax your senses. Some of the most well known places of interest of the hill station are Naini Lake, Nakuchia Lake, Bhimtal Lake, Naini Devi Temple, St. John's Church, Snow View Point, Governor's House, and Naina Peak.

Bhimtal - this place is most famed for the Bhimtal Lake that beautifies the place. The main places of interest here that one should not miss out on when here are Nal Damyanti Tal, Sattal which is a group of lakes, the hill of Karkotaka, Garg Parvat which is the source of river Gargi, Bhimeshwar temple etc.
Almora - Kasar Devi, Banari Devi, Chitai, Garhnath, and Binsar Mahadev etc. are the temples that bless this place and they are the shrines that draw scores of devotees every year. Ranikhet - this town with its picturesque views and wide spared meadows are a real eye pleaser. The name Ranikhet means “Queens Meadow” and is a title rightly given to this cantonment town located in the Almora district. A visit to this place will be a great treat when in Uttarakhand.
